Software License Agreement

1. Definitions

  • "Software" refers to AutoQAI, including the @autoqai/mcp package, the browser extension, all source code, compiled binaries, packages, documentation, and associated files.
  • "Developer" refers to Shridhar T L, the sole copyright holder of the Software.
  • "User" ("you") refers to any individual or entity that downloads, installs, accesses, or uses the Software.
  • "Distribution" refers to any act of copying, sharing, publishing, uploading, or otherwise making the Software available to third parties.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, copying, accessing, or using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this License Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the Software.

3. Grant of License

The Developer grants the User a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

  • Download, install, and use the Software on any number of devices.
  • Use the Software for personal or commercial purposes, free of charge, without any licensing fees, now and in the future.

This license is granted at no cost and shall remain free of charge indefinitely. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by the Developer.

4. Acceptable Use and User Responsibilities

The Software automates a browser session that you control and acts only on the pages, tabs, elements, and systems that you direct it to. You are solely and fully responsible for how you use the Software and for everything you do with it.

You represent, warrant, and agree that:

  • You will use the Software only for lawful purposes and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
  • You have all necessary rights, authorization, and consent to access, test, automate, capture, store, or otherwise interact with any website, application, system, account, network, or data that you direct the Software to act upon.
  • You will not use the Software to access any system you are not authorized to access; to violate the terms of service, robots policies, or acceptable-use policies of any third party; to infringe any intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights; to scrape, harvest, or collect data without permission; or to engage in any unauthorized, deceptive, harmful, fraudulent, or malicious activity.
  • You are responsible for any content, data, or evidence (including screenshots, snapshots, and findings) that the Software captures at your direction, and for handling it in compliance with all applicable laws.

The Developer does not monitor and has no control over how you use the Software. Any misuse of the Software is entirely your responsibility.

5. Restrictions

The following are expressly prohibited without prior written approval from the Developer:

1. Redistribution — You may not copy, distribute, publish, upload, sell, sublicense, or otherwise make the Software available to any third party in any form (modified or unmodified) without obtaining written permission from the Developer.

2. Modified Distribution — Even where written approval for redistribution has been granted, the Software must be distributed exactly as provided by the Developer — unmodified, intact, and without alteration to any files, metadata, package contents, or associated documentation.

3. Rebranding — You may not remove, alter, or replace any copyright notices, branding, trademarks, or attribution related to AutoQAI or the Developer.

4. Commercial Redistribution or Resale — You may not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise monetize the Software or any portion of it.

6. Free Forever

The Software is provided free of charge for all Users — individuals, startups, small businesses, and large enterprises alike — for both personal and commercial use. The Developer will never charge a fee for the base use of the Software as described in Section 3.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

THE DEVELOPER MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES THAT:

  • The Software will meet your requirements or expectations.
  • The Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or free of bugs or viruses.
  • The results, findings, assertions, or output produced by the Software will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
  • Any defects or errors in the Software will be corrected.
  • The Software is compatible with any particular browser version, AI agent, operating system, or platform.

Use of the Software is entirely at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER, SHRIDHAR T L, OR ANY CONTRIBUTOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities.
  • Service interruption or damage to systems, devices, accounts, or data.
  • Damages arising from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data or systems.
  • Any harm caused by reliance on the Software or its output, or by any action the Software performs at your direction.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY UNDER WHICH SUCH DAMAGES ARE CLAIMED — WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE — AND EVEN IF THE DEVELOPER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

The User assumes full and sole responsibility for any and all damages, losses, or consequences arising from the use, misuse, or inability to use the Software.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability; where an exclusion or limitation is not permitted, the Developer's total aggregate liability shall be limited to the amount you paid for the Software, which is zero.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer, Shridhar T L, and any contributors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your use or misuse of the Software.
  • Your violation of this License Agreement.
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Your infringement of the rights of any third party.
  • Any third-party claim arising from your use of the Software.

10. Third-Party Services and Content

The Software may interact with third-party websites, applications, packages, AI agents, and services (for example, your browser, a coding agent such as Claude Code or Cursor, or an integration such as Jira). The Developer does not control and is not responsible for any third party, their availability, conduct, terms, or content. Your use of any third party is governed solely by that third party's own terms and policies.

11. Ownership and Intellectual Property

The Software and all intellectual property rights therein remain the sole and exclusive property of the Developer. This license does not transfer any ownership rights. Nothing in this Agreement grants the User any rights to the Developer's trademarks, trade names, service marks, or logos.

12. Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically, without notice, if the User violates any term of this Agreement. Upon termination, the User must immediately cease all use of the Software and destroy all copies in their possession. Sections 7 through 13 survive termination.

13. Governing Law and Severability

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in the Developer's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that jurisdiction. If any provision of this Agreement is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

This License Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the User and the Developer with respect to the Software and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous understandings, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written.
